Sabia que os brotinhos ou ápice da araucária (o pinheiro que dá pinhão) é comestível? Segundo o Professor Valdely Kinupp, em sua tese de doutorado "Plantas Alimentícias Não Convencionais da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre, RS" , eles são comestíveis e podem ser uma opção pra enganar a fome durante caminhadas pela mata, ou por curiosidade. Pois eu colhi um pouco no sítio pra matar a curiosidade, de um pinheiro plantado por nós. Tem que deixar só o brotinho macio, tirar todas as folhinhas pontudas. Cozinhei em água salgada e ficou bem gostoso, um sabor algo resinoso próprio dos pinheiros.
O inconveniente é que só podemos colher de plantas mais jovens quando conseguimos alcançar. Depois ficam muito altas.
